World War 2 Propaganda Posters

In 1939, the British government’s Ministry of Information released three World War 2 Propaganda Posters designed with the slogans: “Freedom in Peril. Defend it with All Your Might,” “Your Courage, Your Cheerfulness, Your Resolution Will Bring Us Victory” and “Keep Calm and Carry On” to uplift the spirit of Britons who were fearful of a possible German invasion. These were quickly discarded in 1940, after the threat of invasion subsided. Surprisingly, a woman named Morag Turnbull unveiled 15 original “Keep Calm and Carry On” posters when she appeared on an episode of the BBC’s Antiques Road Show. Her father, who was a former member of the Royal Observer Corps, kept the posters and later passed them on to her. Today, those antique posters worth thousands of dollars (or pounds). She plans to sell them in a few years for her retirement.
